Superintendent's Corner

The Superintendent's Corner is a place to provide updates on what's happening in the Maintenance Department and on the golf course.  Hopefully it gives you more insight into all that we have done, are working on, and have plans to do in the future.  As always, feel free to ask me any questions you might have about the course or email me @ scott18pagc@embarqmail.com.

Message from the Superintendent

With the end of the golf season at hand, the grounds crew has begun the process of putting the course to bed for the winter.  While there may yet be a day or two when one last round of golf could still be played on your favorite northwest metro golf course, we have decided to close Pheasant acres for the season to better protect it from further wear and tear that can come from late season golf.  The grass has not been growing for many weeks now and is starting to show some signs of wear from all the traffic.  The ground has firmed up quite a bit also which has made it difficult to cut fresh cups.  This decision was given thorough consideration by our management team and we feel it is in the best interest of maintaining a quality golf course to close at this time for the season.

I felt that the course was kept in great shape this season in spite of the many weather challenges and we don’t want any unnecessary setbacks for the 2012 golf season.  The grounds crew will be here this winter on a limited schedule servicing equipment and re-finishing course accessories.  As always feel free to stop in with any questions or send an email.  Thank you for playing at pheasant acres this past season and I hope to see you next season.
